Westview High School is excited to announce that Jamal Jones will be our new head football coach!
Jamal Jones has seven years of head coaching experience. He spent his first six years at Arcata High School in California and was most recently the head football coach at Franklin High School in Portland, Oregon. During his six years at Arcata, he led the program to six consecutive winning seasons, five consecutive playoff appearances, two league championships, and two state playoff championship appearances. During his six years he also assisted 21 young men with continuing their athletic and academic careers at the college level. C
coach Jones has a passion for teaching student athletes the game of football, but also focuses on mentoring his athletes to help them develop tools that will assist them throughout their lives. In addition to coaching, Coach Jones is also an officer in the Hillsboro Police Department.

This will be Janelle Brandt's 11th year as a Varsity head coach and her 6th season at Westview. Coach Brandt has been coaching volleyball for the past 19 years at every level of high school as well as the 12U, 14U, and 16U club level. Coach Brandt is the Director and Head Coach of the Wildcats Volleyball Club and has run a youth feeder club program for the past 11 years. Prior to coaching at Westview Coach Brandt was the head coach at Aloha High School. She started her coaching career at Crescent Valley High School in Corvallis. Coach Brandt has also coached Track & Field for 4 years previously at Westview.
Coach Brandt was a three-sport Varsity athlete in high school. She played two years of volleyball at Linn-Benton Community College as a Defensive Specialist/Libero before transferring to OSU to finish out her collegiate career as a Defensive Specialist. Coach Brandt graduated from Oregon State University with her Bachelor's degree in Exercise & Sport Science, Go Beavs!! She earned her Master's degree in Special Education from Portland State University. Coach Brandt is a Special Education Resource teacher at Westview.
In her free time Coach Brandt enjoys working out, hiking, playing sand volleyball, going to the beach, reading, running and spending time with her fiancé Christian, his two children and their fur baby Thor. She has competed in over 18 races ranging from 5K, 8K, 10K, and two half-marathons.
