Cross Country
Bryce Thompson is originally from Texas where she graduated from Sanger High School. During her time in high school, she was an eleven-time district champion, two-time regional champion, seven-time state qualifier, and led her cross country team to a state championship her senior year. She broke the 800m, 1600m, 3200m, cross country 2 mile and cross country 5k school records during her high school career. Bryce went on to sign her National Letter of Intent to the University of Oklahoma. During her four years at The University of Oklahoma, Bryce competed in cross country, indoor and outdoor track. She specialized in the 3000m steeplechase where she still sits as the 4th fastest steeplechaser in school history. She was named to the Academic All-Big 12 team eight times, the Big 12 Commissioner's Honor Roll seven times and the All-Big 12 team twice, where her team placed seventh in the Distance Medley Relay at The Big 12 Indoor Track Championships and she placed eighth in the 3000m steeplechase at The Big 12 Outdoor Track Championships. During her senior year, Bryce was a part of history when her and her team had the highest program finish in school history at the Big 12 Cross Country Championships. Additionally, she was a Leadership Academy nominee and on the Deans List. Her senior year, Bryce was named the Big 12 Sportsperson of the Year. Bryce spent five years during her collegiate career as the Girls Camp Director of the Texas Heat XC Camp in Anna, Texas. During her time off the track, Bryce was a member of the Student Athlete Advisory Committee, the Wagner Dining Hall Committee, the Women’s Outreach Center, and an Executive Chair for the Crimson & Creme Awards. She also volunteered for Sooners for N7 from 2014-2017, as a kindergarten reading specialist at Reagan Elementary, a classroom helper at Eisenhower Elementary and at Full Circle Adult Day Care. Bryce now resides in Oregon with her husband Joshua, who is a professional runner for Nike and the Bowerman Track Club, and their son Jett.

Volleyball
This will be Janelle Brandt's 9th year as a Varsity head coach and her 4th season at Westview. Coach Brandt has been coaching volleyball for the past 17 years at every level of high school as well as the 12U, 14U, and 16U club level. Coach Brandt is the Director and Head Coach of the Wildcats Volleyball Club and has run a youth feeder club program for the past 8 years. Prior to coaching at Westview Coach Brandt was the head coach at Aloha High School. She started her coaching career at Crescent Valley High School in Corvallis. Coach Brandt has also coached Track & Field for 4 years previously at Westview.
Coach Brandt was a three-sport Varsity athlete in high school. She played two years of volleyball at Linn-Benton Community College as a Defensive Specialist/Libero before transferring to OSU to finish out her collegiate career as a Defensive Specialist. Coach Brandt graduated from Oregon State University with her Bachelor's degree in Exercise & Sport Science. She earned her Master's degree in Special Education from Portland State University. Coach Brandt is a Special Education Resource teacher at Westview.
In her free time Coach Brandt enjoys working out, hiking, playing sand volleyball, going to the beach, reading, running and spending time with her boyfriend Christian and his two children. She has competed in over 15 races ranging from 5K, 8K, 10K, and two half-marathons.
