Little Wildcats Preschool

Program Philosophy:

The staff of Little Wildcats Preschool welcomes you to the program.  We are delighted that your child will be participating and learning with us.  We look forward to building relationships with you and your child over the upcoming months.  We consider it a privilege to share with you these precious and important years of your child’s development.

We strive to challenge each child by offering an environment that will help children grow and learn in all areas of development (cognitive, social, physical and emotional). We offer a wide variety of materials each day that encourage learning through play, discovery, exploration and creativity.  Our goal is to encourage your child to become capable and self-confident.  We work on fine & gross motor skills, sharing, taking turns, patience, following directions and pre-kindergarten skills.

Curriculum Development:

As a theme-based preschool, each week our advanced student teachers assist in preparing a written curriculum with goals and activities that correspond to the chosen theme.  These curriculum plans are generated according to the ages and developmental levels of the children in the classroom; other ideas for the goals and activities come from the 5 habits of mind(which align with BSD preschools and the ODE Early Learning Standards) and from watching children engaged in play. A typical day will include all of the following: classroom centers, movement - outdoor/indoor, writing/language, circle time, snack, art, science, music, dramatic role-playing and sensory exploration.

  • Children must be 3 1/2 by September.
  • It is required that all children are potty trained to attend; pull ups are not allowed.
