On a regular basis, Westview counselors monitor progress data on student's attendance, behaviors, and credits earned - the ABC's. The data inform academic planning, access and equity to classes, and college and career preparedness. We consult with administrators and teachers based on analysis and interpretation of data.We use the information to identify
- Students having difficulties or behavior problems
- Barriers to learning
- Access and equity issues
- Ways to improve, modify, or change services provided
We are happy to help students and families understand the impact of attendance on grades, how to read a transcript, creating a four-year course plan, and setting post-high school plans. If you have a question regarding an individual grade, please contact the class teacher.
Forecasting is the term used in the Beaverton School District for requesting classes for the following year. Each February, students complete forecasting forms on which a master schedule is built. We ask students to carefully consider their courses in light of their short- and long-term learning goals, keeping in mind appropriate course levels and their other responsibilities. Once requested, courses may not be changed.
