Attendance

Ways to report:

1. Call the Attendance Line and leave a message (minimum of 1 hour notice) - 503.356.3020
2. Provide a signed note for your student to give to the Attendance Office

Please include the following information:

• Student's full name
• Student's six-digit ID number
• Your name and relationship to the student (parent, guardian, etc.)
• Reason

Things to note:

• After the message or note is received, the student will be given an Early Release Pass and can leave campus
• Students cannot leave in between classes and have a parent/guardian call later to excuse
• If your student leaves then returns to school, they must check in at the attendance office upon arrival

Absences must be reported within 48 hours

Ways to Report:

2. Report all day absences via ParentVue
   • Please note that when using ParentVue, it is for all day absences only
   • Must be submitted prior to the school day beginning

Please include the following information:

• Student's full name (please spell uncommon names)
• Student's six-digit ID number
• Your name and relationship to the student (parent, guardian, etc)
• Reason for the absence
  • Illness
  • Medical appointment
  • Family emergency
  • Death in family
  • Religious observance
  • Other administrative approved reason

Students should go directly to the Attendance Office when they arrive

• Your name and relationship to the student (parent, guardian, etc)
• Reason

Things to note:

• Oversleeping, missing the bus, finishing homework/studying at home, and "running late" cannot be excused
• Valid excuses include medical appointments, family emergencies, illness, etc.

If absences of three or more days are known in advance:

• Students are to come to the Attendance Office and get a Prearranged Absence Form
• This must be filled out & signed by parent/guardian, then by the student's teachers
• Bring the completed form to the Attendance Office

Students  who  have  been absent have the responsibility to request and make up all missed work.

• Teachers have the option to determine the length of time for completion of make up work; the general rule is a day for a day.
• Parents/student requests for homework related to absences of 3 or more days should be made to the teachers and should allow for a 24-hour response time.
